My name is Jessy Anna, and if you have ever stood on a tee box at 6 in the morning with dew still on the grass and felt that quiet excitement before your first swing of the day, then you already understand why I built GolfDeft.com. Golf is not just a sport I follow.
It is something I have lived, breathed, and obsessed over for more than a decade. This website is my way of sharing everything I have learned with golfers who are just as serious about the game as I am.
How It All Started?
I picked up my first golf club when I was nineteen years old. It was a battered old 7-iron that belonged to my father, and I hit it so badly in the backyard that my neighbor thought I was trying to dig a hole. But something clicked that day, not the terrible shot but the feeling. The focus, the stillness, the challenge of it. I was hooked immediately.
Over the next few years, I played every chance I got. Public courses, private clubs, early morning rounds before work, late evening range sessions after dinner. I read every golf magazine I could find, watched instructional videos obsessively, and spent more money on equipment than I would like to admit to my family. Golf became the lens through which I experienced everything.
Then came the winters. Living in a region where outdoor golf becomes impossible for months at a time, I turned to golf simulators. That decision changed everything for me. I spent two full years researching, building, and refining my own home simulator setup — testing different projectors, screens, launch monitors, and software platforms. I made expensive mistakes. I learned hard lessons. And eventually, I built a setup that I am genuinely proud of.
That experience is the foundation of GolfDeft.
Why I Built this GolfDeft?
When I was building my simulator and researching golf gear, I kept running into the same problem online. Most of the content I found was written by people who had clearly never touched the products they were recommending. Reviews were shallow, comparisons were lazy, and advice was copied from manufacturer websites without any real testing or personal insight.
I remember spending three hours trying to find a straight answer about projector throw distance for a specific room size. Three hours. And I still could not find a clear, honest answer written by someone who had actually set one up themselves.
That is when I decided to build GolfDeft. A website where every piece of content comes from real experience, genuine testing, and an honest desire to help fellow golfers make better decisions. No fluff, no filler, no fake expertise.
What I Bring to GolfDeft?
Over the years, I have personally tested and reviewed more than forty golf products — from drivers and putters to launch monitors, impact screens, simulator software, and projector mounts. I have played on over thirty different golf courses across five states. I have worked with golfers of all skill levels, including seniors, beginners, left-handed players, and golfers managing physical disabilities who needed adaptive equipment solutions.
I hold a certified Golf Fitness Specialist credential and have completed coursework in golf biomechanics, which gives me a deeper understanding of how equipment affects swing mechanics and overall performance. When I talk about shaft flex, swing weight, or projector brightness ratios, I am not reading from a spec sheet — I am speaking from experience and education.
I also consult regularly with club fitters, PGA professionals, and simulator technicians to make sure the information on GolfDeft stays current, accurate, and genuinely useful.
What GolfDeft Covers?
GolfDeft is a comprehensive golf resource covering four main areas:
Golf Simulators & Home Setups — Everything from choosing the right projector and impact screen to calculating room dimensions, throw ratios, and software comparisons. If you are building a simulator, this is where you start.
Golf Equipment Reviews — Honest, hands-on reviews of clubs, putters, bags, gloves, shoes, and accessories. Every recommendation is based on real testing, not brand sponsorships.
Adaptive Golf — A section I am particularly passionate about. GolfDeft is one of the few golf websites that takes adaptive golf seriously, covering equipment and setups specifically designed for golfers with physical disabilities, limited mobility, arthritis, and other challenges.
Buying Guides — Practical, no-nonsense guides that help you spend your money wisely, whether you have a budget of one hundred dollars or ten thousand.
Meet the Team
GolfDeft started as a one-woman project, but as the website grew, I brought in a small team of passionate golf lovers who share the same commitment to honest, experience-driven content.
Jessy Anna — Founder & Lead Reviewer, Golf enthusiast, simulator builder, and the driving force behind GolfDeft. Jessy covers simulator setups, equipment reviews, and adaptive golf content. With over ten years of on-course experience and two years of hands-on simulator building, she brings unmatched depth to every article she writes.
Mark Sullivan — Equipment Specialist Mark is a former club fitter with twelve years of experience working with amateur and semi-professional golfers. He joined GolfDeft to bring a technical edge to club and equipment reviews. When Mark says a shaft flex is right for your swing speed, he means it — he has fit hundreds of golfers and seen the data firsthand.
Rachel Kim — Golf Fitness & Wellness Writer Rachel is a certified personal trainer and golf fitness coach who specializes in helping golfers improve their physical performance on and off the course. She covers topics like flexibility training, injury prevention, and adaptive fitness for golfers with mobility challenges.
David Torres — Simulator Technology Consultant. David has built over fifty home and commercial golf simulator setups across the country. He advises GolfDeft on all things technical — projector specs, screen materials, launch monitor accuracy, and room design. His real-world installation experience makes our simulator content the most practical you will find anywhere online.
