Finding the best ceiling mount projector for a golf simulator isn’t like picking any projector off the shelf. Most standard projectors fail at this specific job because they lack the throw ratio precision, brightness consistency, and response speed that swing analysis demands. I’ve evaluated five projectors designed or suited for this purpose, testing their real-world … Read more
When you’re shopping for a launch monitor specifically to play rounds at home—not just collect data at the range—you’re solving a different problem than you might think. The best golf launch monitor for home simulator isn’t necessarily the one with the most accurate numbers or the fanciest camera system; it’s the one you’ll actually want … Read more
I’ve spent months setting up and testing launch monitors in actual home golf spaces—basements, garages, spare bedrooms—not just reading spec sheets. The truth is, finding the best launch monitor for indoor golf simulator comes down to what you’re willing to invest and what your space can actually handle, not just which brand sounds fanciest. If you’re building or upgrading a golf simulator at home, a touchscreen monitor seems like an obvious addition, but here’s the thing: you might not actually need one. That said, if you want the ability to adjust settings mid-round, swap courses with a tap, or just enjoy a more interactive experience, the right touchscreen monitor … Read more
If you’re shopping for a golf simulator and handedness is on your mind, you’re already asking the right question. The real issue isn’t whether simulators work for both left and right-handers—most modern ones do—but rather which ones let you switch between hands without constant fussing, recalibration headaches, or compromised accuracy. If you want the short version, aim for about 8 to 10 feet from the ball to the impact screen. For many home golf simulators, that is a solid starting point because it balances realism, screen coverage, and bounce-back control. In some setups, 10 feet is a very strong target, while 6 to 8 feet … Read more
The best DIY golf simulator enclosure for most home golfers is 10 feet high, 12 to 14 feet wide, and 5 to 8 feet deep, built with either 1-inch EMT conduit or 2×4 wood framing, plus a real impact screen, side protection, and proper spacing from the hitting mat to the screen. If you want … Read more

The best setup usually involves bringing the putter closer to your body, keeping the face square longer, stabilizing … Read more
If you’re wondering how much a virtual golf simulator costs, the short version is this: most setups fall somewhere between $1,000 and $25,000+, depending on how realistic you want things to feel. A basic practice setup can be surprisingly affordable, while a full home simulator with a launch monitor, enclosure, projector, mat, and software can … Read more
Golf simulators are usually accurate enough for distance practice, but the important part is knowing which distance you are looking at. In most cases, carry distance is the most reliable number, while total distance can vary more because each system estimates rollout a little differently. So, in plain terms, yes, golf simulators can be very … Read more
